Oh the bounty quests - don't turn them until the time has expired. But i didn't get your use of melees to level up. You can go way above whatever the requirment was and the reward scales, so get as much as you can.
As long as you hit your minimum, there's no penalty for turning in late. You need renown to do real tournaments, which is a pain. Whenever I needed some extra pocket change, I'd hit the melee again.
I used the melees to get a few levels and pay to recruit companions & buy them a horse. Originally posted by popcorn3:Curently playing PoP, so I can relate. I typically joined whoever was figthing Sarleon so that I could kite their lords into noldor patrols (and then help the noldors for free loot). Plus you can leave and join another kingdom after 30 days if your current kingdom turns out filled with incompetents. As a mercenary they were covering almost my entire payroll - even when it was 10K a week. When you feel like you're ready to do more serious fighting either do bounty quests (my favorite being hunting Vanskery) and/or join a kingdom as a mercenary. If you can find a feast, just park there and milk those tournaments. Winning is +20 renown and the cash is more than enough to buy an enterprise in the town you're in. Once you get enough renown to enter tournaments, run around doing those. Or one side is Noldor - getting positive rep with them is a huge benefit. Its cheesy, but join fights in progress -especially if they have good prisoners. Quests get you renown and exp, so focus on those.Īvoid anyone who wants to fight you. Look up what each companion will bring and send out the ones that get you troops that fit your needs. Also when companions come back from right-to-rule missions, they bring some troops.
Any troops you take on have to be nimble, so I recruited calvery from taverns (mostly young nobles). You need renown to do real tournaments, which is a pain.īe VERY picky about what troops you take on.
